2023-24 YLS Council members elected

Members of the Young Lawyers’ Section of The Missouri Bar, voting in districts throughout the state, elected six members to that group’s governing council and retained nine incumbent council members for a new terms beginning this September. Members of the Young Lawyers' Section Council are elected to serve two-year terms. Newly elected council members or past council members elected in different districts include:   

  • District 2: Cassidy Johnston, of Moberly 
  • District 3: Brice Barnard, Lauren Dollar, and Sam Sherman, of Kansas City  
  • District 8: Katie Finnegan Krispin, of St. Louis County  
  • Southern Appellate District: John L. Boyer, of Joplin 

Incumbents elected to represent the same district for another term on the Young Lawyers’ Section Council are:  

  • District 3: Erica Frank, of Independence
  • District 5: George Brand, of Columbia  
  • District 6: Paige Wheeler, of Jefferson City 
  • District 8: Courtney Chen and Steven Alan Ramsey, of St. Louis County  
  • District 9: Dashawn Cason, Tristen Estep, and Jack Yarbrough, of the City of St. Louis  
  • District 12: Danielle Drake, of Lake Ozark  

New council members will take office during YLS Council meetings taking place Sept. 14-15 at The Missouri Bar’s Annual Meeting in Kansas City. In addition, the group will soon begin advertising vacancies in the following districts: 

  • District 9 - City of St. Louis  
  • District 11 - Christian, Douglas, Greene, Howell, Ozark, Stone, Taney, Webster and Wright counties  
  • Western Appellate District Diversity Seat 

The mission of the Young Lawyers' Section is to enhance the professional growth and public service of new and recently admitted Missouri lawyers. All Missouri lawyers aged 36 or less or, if older, who have been in practice five years or less, are automatically members of the section at no additional cost. For additional information on the Young Lawyers’ Section Council, including districts, elections, and bylaws, click here
