2023 Annual Report highlights Missouri Bar activities, successes

From member benefits and civics education to CLE opportunities and legislative engagement, The Missouri Bar is here to help lawyers even better serve their clients and communities, while also improving the administration of justice on behalf of citizens. This mission is highlighted in the bar’s 2023 Annual Report, which outlines the organization’s activities and successes over the past year in support of its strategic goals.

“As you scroll through this 2023 Annual Report of The Missouri Bar, I’m confident you will be inspired and impressed by the achievements and progress we have made together as a united community,” said Megan Phillips, 2023-2024 Missouri Bar president. “Together, we have the widest influence to improve the legal profession, the administration of justice, and the law on behalf of the public.”

In 2023, The Missouri Bar created and launched an extensive plan to educate and inform Missouri lawyers and citizens regarding expanded remote public access in Case.net that began July 1, 2023. This included offering no-cost CLE opportunities, redaction related forms, tutorial videos, “how to” articles, redaction software resources, and more. There were also educational programs about remote public access during several Missouri Bar conferences, as well as numerous articles published in the Journal of The Missouri Bar.

The bar hosted numerous conferences in a hybrid format, offering dozens of CLE and networking opportunities to thousands of lawyers from across Missouri. The report also details The Missouri Bar’s work regarding increasing access to justice, providing civics education, legislative activities, and communicating about the wide array of services and resources it provides to Missouri lawyers and citizens alike.

The 2023 Annual Report highlights The Missouri Bar’s performance in meeting its strategic direction goals. The report also contains an overview of the organization’s receipts and expenses for the year.
