An update from OSCA regarding systems outage

The following is a message from OSCA updating lawyers on a recent system outage.

As you are aware, an electrical failure at one of our state judicial data centers disrupted court computer systems statewide, including our statewide case management system. Thanks to round-the-clock efforts from information technology staff and various experts at OSCA, access to the case management system was restored to all courts – municipal, circuit, appellate and Supreme Court of Missouri – by late Friday afternoon.

You may notice the system is not as responsive as usual. Also, please do not panic if you do not yet see cases or documents showing up as filed. Court staff continue to work through the backlog of filings that may have occurred last week. Some court staff may be experiencing some issues with e-mail, which might impact after-hours applications for warrants or ex parte orders.

If you believe a filing is missing or labeled improperly as “pending,” please contact the local court clerk’s office. Although all efforts have been made to restore data as fully as possible before the outage, some glitches may have occurred, especially in the 42nd Judicial Circuit (Crawford, Dent, Iron, Reynolds and Wayne counties). You can find in Rule 103.06 additional procedures to follow in the event the electronic filing system was unavailable at the time you attempted to file a document.

OSCA staff continue to work to restore full functionality and responsiveness to all judiciary systems. This process may not be immediate, however, as some equipment will need to be replaced.
