Two vacancies have occurred on the YLS Council in District 9. Pursuant to YLS Bylaw Article III, Section 4(c), these vacancies shall be filled by majority vote of the current YLS Council.

One individual elected by the Council will serve the remainder of a term for a seat that became open due to a council member resigning. This term ends in September of 2020. The individual who fills the vacancy will also be eligible to run for the full two-year term (2020-2022) in the general election next summer. The second individual elected will serve a full two-year term (2019-2021).

The YLS Council is requesting that anyone interested in serving on the Council from District 9 complete the nominating petition and file it with Brett Rolwes at the Missouri Bar by 5:00 pm on Friday, August 30, 2019. The Council suggests that any interested candidate include a resume and a brief statement explaining your interest in serving on the YLS Council. All petitions received will be submitted to the YLS Council for consideration, and new representatives will be elected by the Council the following week. Please indicate if you are interested in the one-year term, the two-year term, or either.

The new District# 9 representatives will be asked to attend a new council member orientation session on Friday, September 6 at The Missouri Bar Center in Jefferson City, as well as attend the YLS Council meeting scheduled for Friday, September 20 in Branson.

If you would like further information or have any questions, please contact Brett Rolwes at (573) 635-4128 or yls@mobar.org.
