Fall Committee Meetings offer no-cost CLEs for #MOLawyers

Each year, The Missouri Bar’s Fall Committee Meetings are a chance for lawyers to exchange ideas and learn ways to even better serve their clients and communities. Registration for the 2022 virtual event, set for Nov. 14-18, is now open to all Missouri lawyers! Here’s what you need to know about the week-long event. And remember to register at MoBar.org/fcm2022.  

What is a Missouri Bar committee? 
Committees represent the driving forces behind much of The Missouri Bar’s work and activities. Committee members are lawyers who practice in or are passionate about a particular area of law. Throughout the year, committees engage in activities which include, but are not limited to:

·        Drafting and/or reviewing legislative proposals;

·        Developing and presenting continuing legal education programs, printing reference materials, and creating practice resources;

·        Increasing public understanding of the law;

·        Helping educators teach students about the justice system;

·        Producing a variety of programs and activities to help lawyers improve the efficiency of their practices; and

·        Developing programs to maintain the highest level of professionalism among members.  

What happens during Fall Committee Meetings? 
While each of the 30 meetings are unique, the majority include an update from committee chairs, a business meeting, and a CLE program related to the practice area – all at no cost to the attendee. 

Do I have to be a member of a committee to participate? 
No. While The Missouri Bar encourages all lawyers to join open enrollment committees connected to their practice area(s) or topics they find interesting, lawyers are not required to join a committee to take part in the meetings. 

How much is Fall Committee Meetings registration? 
There is no cost to attend committee meetings. 

Where do I register? 
Lawyers can access the full schedule and sign up to attend at MoBar.org/fcm2022. 

How can I join a committee? 
Members can simply browse the list of committees, learn about their work and scope, and view the current rosters. Sign in to the “Join a committee” webpage to learn more. 

How can I communicate and network with committee members outside of Fall Committee Meetings? 
connect.MOBAR makes it easy for lawyers to connect and collaborate in various committees. After joining a group, lawyers are added to that committee’s corresponding online community.
