Fall Committee Meetings set for Nov. 18-21

The Missouri Bar’s Fall Committee Meetings will be a four-day event this year starting Nov. 18 and ending Nov. 21.

The meetings will be held virtually via Zoom. While committee membership is encouraged to register and attend, it is not required. There is no cost to register and those interested can attend multiple meetings. Most meetings will offer CLE credits approved for Missouri MCLE and some for Kansas credit.

The meetings will feature timely and informative conversations about a variety of topics including: 

Probate & Trust Division – The evolution of the qualified spousal trust

Women in the Profession – A conversation with the women judges of the Supreme Court of Missouri

Health & Hospital Administration – Potential impacts and application of the final HIPAA rule on reproductive health care

Lawyers are encouraged to get involved by learning about the work and scope of the committees and joining those of interest here.  

What is a Missouri Bar committee?  

Committees represent the driving forces behind much of The Missouri Bar’s work and activities. Committee members are lawyers who practice in or are passionate about a particular area of law. Throughout the year, committees engage in activities which include, but are not limited to: 

Drafting and/or reviewing legislative proposals 

     – Developing and presenting continuing legal education programs, printing reference materials, and creating practice resources

     – Increasing public understanding of the law

     – Helping educators teach students about the justice system 

     – Producing a variety of programs and activities to help lawyers improve the efficiency of their practices 

     – Developing programs to maintain the highest level of professionalism among members

What happens during Fall Committee Meetings?  

There will be 29 committees hosting 27 meetings this year. 

While each of the meetings are unique, the majority include an update from committee chairs, a business meeting, and a CLE program related to the practice area – all at no cost to the attendee.
