Find practical steps, resources in the free Well-Being Toolkit for Lawyers and Legal Employers

Well-being can seem like an abstract concept.

But there are specific assessments; education and development programs; and activities and events you can use at your job to improve well-being.

The Well-Being Toolkit for Lawyers and Legal Employers has helpful resources for lawyers and law students seeking to improve their sense of well-being.

Developed by lawyer Anne Brafford1 in partnership with the American Bar Association, this free, practical toolkit walks through why improving lawyer well-being is good for businesses and clients, defines the different approaches to well-being and what a healthy workplace is, and lists an eight-step action plan for legal employers.

It also includes a policies and practices audit checklist, ideas for activities and events, education and development programs, assessments, online resources, book recommendations, and an activity workbook with practical steps and activities.

Reaching out for help is a sign of strength and hope. For confidential assistance with concerns affecting your personal or professional life, please contact the Missouri Lawyers’ Assistance Program at 1-800-688-7859 or visit MoBar.org/MOLAP.
