300-plus Missouri lawyers sworn in during 2026 Fall Enrollment Ceremonies
Over 300 individuals were sworn into the legal profession before judges of the Supreme Court of Missouri, officers of The Missouri Bar, and members of the Missouri Board of Law Examiners during the Fall Enrollment Ceremonies Friday at the Supreme Court of Missouri building in Jefferson City. Those lawyers were among the individuals who passed the July 2026 Bar Exam.

David Sheilley, who recently graduated from the Saint Louis University School of Law, said he felt relieved to be officially sworn in as a lawyer.
“I’m glad that we’re finally here," Sheilley said.
Looking back on his journey, he said, he appreciated the challenge of law school. He is currently employed at Watters Wolf Bub Hansmann in St. Louis and is looking forward to getting into the courtroom for the first time.
Laura Rodriguez del Rey, a Chilean lawyer, said she recently got her second law degree, this time from Florida International University. She will practice business immigration law from her home in Miami, and will be one of the 21.7% of Missouri Bar members who live outside of the state. Rodriguez del Rey said she was participating in one of the federal enrollment ceremonies later that morning.
She was joined by her family, including her son, at today's enrollment ceremony.
“I think that the best also is showing years later to my son what I did and (that) he could have a role model to do whatever he wants," Rodriguez del Rey said.
She said that getting to this point felt like an amazing accomplishment, and that it hadn't been easy.
The Missouri Bar is here to help lawyers even better serve their clients and communities. Enrollees can view the plethora of resources available to them at MoBar.org/New-Members. In addition, The Missouri Bar Young Lawyers’ Section sent welcome packets to the state’s enrollees.
