Annual enrollment fees support The Missouri Bar, OCDC, and Legal Services

For each dollar of the annual enrollment fees a Missouri lawyer pays, 63 cents goes toward the operation of The Missouri Bar, 25 cents supports the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel, and 12 cents is directed to Legal Services. The value of a Missouri Bar membership far exceeds the cost of the annual enrollment fee thanks to dozens of membership services and resources provided at no additional cost, as well as discounts with law practice management providers. Missouri Bar Young Lawyers’ Section recognized for video series

The Missouri Bar recently received an award for excellence in social media marketing during the 2025 National Association of Bar Executives Communications Section Workshop. The award highlights the success of the ShowMeRights.org video series, a collaborative project with the Young Lawyers’ Section that builds on the work of the 2017-2018 Leadership Academy class. The videos collectively earned more than 201,000 views across Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. The campaign has also driven over 1,300 visits to ShowMeRights.org, amplifying public awareness and engagement with important topics. 

Utilize the bar’s Legislative Engagement Center

With Missouri’s legislative session starting in January, bookmark The Missouri Bar’s Legislative Engagement Center. The Missouri Bar government relations staff track bills of interest to the legal profession and bills impacting the justice system throughout each year’s session. Missouri Bar members can utilize the various bills of interest feeds and download the latest copy of the Legislative Digest. Visit the Legislative Engagement Center at MoBar.org/Legislative.

Tech tip 

When working hybrid or in the office, avoid public Wi-Fi unless using a company-provided VPN. Recent reports highlight hackers exploiting unsecured networks in coworking spaces. At home, change your router’s default password and enable WPA3 encryption to secure your connection and your clients’ information.
