William R. “Bill” Bay sworn in as American Bar Association president

Bill Bay, partner at the St. Louis office of Thompson Coburn LLP, was sworn in as president of the American Bar Association on Aug. 5 during the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago.

A past president of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Bay served on The Missouri Bar Board of Governors from 2005-2009 and as co-chair of the Joint Commission on Women in the Profession; the Joint Task Force on the Future of the Profession; and the Supreme Court of Missouri’s Commission on Racial and Ethnic Fairness. Bay received The Missouri Bar Foundation’s Spurgeon Smithson Award in 2017 and The Missouri Bar President’s Award in 2002.

Bay has held numerous ABA leadership roles, including on the ABA Board of Governors, ABA House of Delegates, and ABA Section of Litigation.

“We seek to welcome every lawyer to the American Bar Association,” Bay says in an Aug. 6 ABA press release. “We are your home and a thriving, inclusive member-driven community. Whatever your needs and whatever your interests, we have a place for you to serve our profession.’’

Heat is the enemy of longevity for a battery. So, charging your phone beyond 80% or using that ultra-fast charger could be slowly eating away at your battery’s ability to hold a charge and let you conduct business. Use a low-amperage slow charger when time allows, and plan your charging cycles so that you can stop charging around 80%.
