The Journal of The Missouri Bar publishes items in the "In Memoriam" section as they are received. To honor the lives and achievements of deceased members, The Missouri Bar solicits additional information about these men and women from family members or printed obituaries. When that information is not provided or is otherwise unavailable, the Journal will print only the deceased’s name, city of residence, and date of death.

Michael R. Anderson, age 68, of Houston, on Dec. 14, 2020. Anderson attended the University of Missouri School of Law and joined The Missouri Bar in 2000. He served as prosecuting attorney for 12 years and later as a 25th Judicial Circuit attorney for indigent parents. He also was a city judge for Houston and Licking. Anderson served in the U.S. Air Force.

Barbara S. Barrett, age 69, of Evansville, IN, on June 20, 2020. Barrett graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law and joined The Missouri Bar in 1990. Barrett operated her practice, Barrett Law Offices, for more than 20 years.

Robert Jon Bopp, age 81, of Ballwin, on Dec. 18, 2020. Bopp graduated from Washington University School of Law and joined The Missouri Bar in 1964. Bopp practiced law in Ballwin, and was mayor of Ballwin and a council member in Wildwood. Bopp served in the U.S. Army.

Bernard C. Brinker, age 89, of Clayton, on Feb. 21, 2021. Brinker was a partner at Brinker & Doyen LLP, focusing on defense and mediation. He received The Missouri Bar Foundation’s Lon O. Hocker Award in 1965 and was inducted as a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He attended Washington University School of Law and joined The Missouri Bar in 1955.

Julian “Jack” C. Carey, age 77, of Belleville, IL, on April 27, 2020. Carey joined The Missouri Bar in 1984 and operated a private law practice.

Wright W. Crummett, age 89, of Overland Parks, KS, on June 1, 2019. Crummett graduated from Washburn Uni­versity School of Law in Topeka, KS, and joined The Missouri Bar in 1974. He was the first full-time Overland Park city attorney and served as general counsel for the League of Kansas Municipalities. He was also a senior attorney with Bayer Corporation in Kansas City. Crummett served in the Korean War.

Aaron Stuart Dubin, age 63, of O’Fallon, on Dec. 30, 2020. Dubin attended Washington University School of Law and joined The Missouri Bar in 1984. He was a partner at Frankel, Rubin, Klein, Dubin, Siegel, and Payne.

Donald G. Dylewski, age 70, of St. Louis, on Jan. 15, 2021. Dylewski served 40 years as a lawyer in the St. Louis city counselor’s office. He joined The Missouri Bar in 1977.

Gene G. Gulinson, age 77, of Phoenix, AZ, on Dec. 25, 2020. Gulinson joined The Missouri Bar in 1968.

Gretchen D. Huston, age 84, of Peachtree City, GA, on Dec. 25, 2020. Huston joined The Missouri Bar in 1959.

Hoburt Tracy Huston, age 83, of Peachtree City, GA, on Oct. 23, 2015. Huston joined The Missouri Bar in 1963. Huston worked in the general counsel’s office at Sverdrup Corp. He also served as an alderman for Crestwood.

Paul Kenneth Kirkpatrick, age 93, of Monroe, LA, on Jan. 1, 2021. Kirkpatrick worked as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice before joining Hudson, Potts, & Bernstein law firm. He studied law at Saint Louis University School of Law and Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. He joined The Missouri Bar in 1955. Kirkpatrick served with the Merchant Marine Cadet Corps and in the U.S. Army.

Robert M. Kroenert, age 81, of Centennial, CO, on Dec. 12, 2020. Kroenert attended the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor before joining The Missouri Bar in 1964. Kroenert was a corporate defense trial lawyer and worked at Stinson LLP for 38 years before retiring.

William T. Lawrie, age 75, of Bremerton, WA, on Jan. 11, 2021. Lawrie practiced law in Washington for more than 40 years. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law and joined The Missouri Bar in 1970. Lawrie served in the U.S. Navy and as a judge advocate general.

Curtis Joe Martin, age 60, of Overland Park, KS, on Dec. 4, 2020. Martin graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and joined The Missouri Bar in 1990. He worked at Black & Veatch for 31 years.

Walter D. McQuie, age 91, of Montgomery City, on Jan. 17, 2021. McQuie joined The Missouri Bar in 1953.

Gerald “Gerry” Kenneth Rabushka, age 89, of St. Louis, on Sept. 12, 2020. Rabushka was a judge advocate officer in the U.S. Air Force before going on to practice law in Clayton for more than 40 years. Rabushka graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law and joined The Missouri Bar in 1955.

Donald E. Ransom, age 74, of St. Louis, on Dec. 29, 2020. Ransom served as the general counsel for Burlington Northern Railroad. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law and joined The Missouri Bar in 1972.

Stephen R. Sharp, age 75, of Kennett, on April 11, 2020. Sharp was a former prosecuting attorney, presiding circuit court judge, senior judge, and Missouri senator, among several other titles. He graduated from Memphis State Uni­versity School of Law and joined The Missouri Bar in 1972. Sharp served in the U.S. Army.

Stephen James Stephenson, age 68, of Winter Haven, FL, on Dec. 29, 2019. Stephenson practiced law in Illinois and Missouri for several years. Stephenson joined The Missouri Bar in 1990.

William H. “Bill” Strop, age 82, of St. Joseph, on Feb. 13, 2021. Strop graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law and joined The Missouri Bar in 1963. Strop was a fourth-generation lawyer and worked at the family law firm of Strop, Watkins, Roberts and Hale. He was part of the Judge Advocate Generals Corps in the Missouri Air National Guard.
