How to submit an obituary for In Memoriam
Obituaries are submitted to The Missouri Bar through a variety of mechanisms. To facilitate this process, the bar created a form that may be accessed via  MoBar.wufoo.com/forms/in-memoriam/. We will not print the obituary unless a copy of the death certificate or obituary is submitted.

Thomas Merritt Adams, age 86, of Pacific Palisades, CA, on Dec. 9, 2021. Adams served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force, staff lawyer at the Securities and Exchange Commission, and CEO of TransAmerica Investment Management Company. He later worked in private practice, focusing on securities and business law. He graduated from Washington University School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1960.

Donald Chamberlin Bollard III, age 78, of Overland Park, KS, on April 29, 2022. He was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1969.

Hon. Marvin Justin Brenner, age 83, of San Francisco, CA, on May 27, 2022. Brenner focused on labor law, working at Airline Pilots Association as chief of litigation and regional attorney. He also served as an administrative law judge. He graduated from the University of Michigan School of Law and Georgetown Law Center, and he was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1964.

Brian Douglas Byrd, age 50, of Lake Ozark, on July 11, 2022. Byrd practiced at his law firm, Brian D. Byrd P.C. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1999.

Donaldson Chapman, age 91, of Chillicothe, on Sept. 14, 2021. Chapman was the third generation to work at the family law firm, Chapman Law Firm. He served as Livingston County prosecutor and practiced law for 58 years. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1954. Chapman served in the U.S. Army.

Stephanie A. Cole, age 65, of Gardner, KS, on March 16, 2022. Cole was a senior claims lawyer at Zurich North American Insurance Company for 33 years. She graduated from Washburn University School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1989.

Hon. Lawrence W. Cullen, age 82, of Peachtree Corners, GA, on Feb. 4, 2021. Cullen served as a judge for the National Labor Relations Board for nearly 30 years. He graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1963.

Hon. David Clyde Dally, age 74, of Carthage, on Aug. 8, 2022. Dally was a presiding judge, county prosecutor, and assistant prosecutor of Jasper County, as well as city attorney of Carthage. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1973.

John W. Dickey, age 94, of Marshfield, on June 1, 2022. Dickey practiced law for more than 40 years at Sullivan and Cromwell in New York and London. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1954. Dickey served in the U.S. Army.

Robert T. Ebert Jr., age 60, of St. Louis, on May 31, 2022. Ebert was a partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, where he worked for 36 years. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1987.

Thomas J. Enis, age 84, of Oklahoma City, OK, on Feb. 28, 2022. Enis practiced law and was a professor in Oklahoma City. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1966.

Bernard M. Goldman, age 98, of Poughkeepsie, NY, on Jan. 2, 2022. Goldman served in the U.S. Army and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1952.

Lloyd S. Hellman, age 91, of Overland Park, KS, on March 22, 2022. Hellman was a partner at Sandler, Balkin, Hellman & Weinstein. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1959. Hellman served in the U.S. Marines.

Mark Bennett Hutton, age 67, of Wichita, KS, on Dec. 29, 2021. Hutton practiced law for more than 40 years and co-founded Hutton & Hutton Law Firm. He graduated from Washburn University School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 2000.

Richard B. Jamison, age 89, of Winchester, VA, on April 7, 2021. Jamison served as vice president of properties and facilities with American Airlines and director of airports for Wayne County, Michigan, before becoming an aviation consultant with Landrum & Brown. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1965. Jamison served in the U.S. Army.

Thomas Edward Lowther, age 85, of St. Louis, on July 11, 2022. Lowther served in the U.S. Army and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1962.

Joseph H. Mueller, age 86, of St. Louis, on Oct. 9, 2021. Mueller was a partner for 46 years at Moser & Marsale and of counsel for 16 years with his son at The Mueller Law Practice. He graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1959.

John M. O’Hare, age 90, of Williamsburg, VA, on May 10, 2022. O’Hare worked at Bendix Aviation Corporate for 35 years, retiring as its vice president of human resources. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1961. O’Hare served in the U.S. military.

Richard E. O’Leary, age 87, of Naples, FL, on April 4, 2022. O’Leary founded H Enterprises International Inc. and served in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from the University of Illinois School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1964.

Randall D. Palmer, age 95, of Raymore, on Nov. 21, 2021. Palmer practiced law for more than 40 years in Stockton and Pittsburg, Kansas. He also was a Kansas state representative and served in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1950.

John Anthony Showalter, age 75, of Kansas City, on July 28, 2022. Showalter was the associate general counsel of Kansas City Life Insurance Company for 37 years. He graduated from Washburn University School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1973.

Eric F. Tremayne, age 76, of St. Louis, on March 1, 2022. Tremayne worked at his father’s law firm, Tremayne, Lay, Carr and Bauer, for 48 years. He graduated from Washington University School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1973.

David Cole Trowbridge, age 81, of Kansas City, on Dec. 14, 2021. Trowbridge was associate general counsel and general solicitor for Hallmark Cards for 21 years, as well as of counsel at Blackwell Sanders. He received his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Master of Laws from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. He was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1965.

Harold E. Uthoff, age 94, of St. Louis, on Jan. 17, 2022. Uthoff was senior vice president of supervision and regulation with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. He graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1951. Uthoff served in the U.S. Army.

Alwyn E. Wolfarth, age 83, of St. Louis, on July 5, 2021. Wolfarth worked at Monsanto Company for 21 years, overseeing the company’s international investments for its pension fund and corporate real estate. He later joined Christian Brothers Investment Funds in New York City. He graduated from Washington University School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1963. Wolfarth served in the U.S. Army.
