Judges, Missouri Bar leaders gather for film debut
“Not in our Wildest Dreams!” spotlights historic Supreme Court of Missouri female majority
Missouri Bar leaders joined members of the judiciary, along with family and friends, March 12 in Jefferson City for the debut of the film “Not in our Wildest Dreams!”
The documentary, produced by Missouri Humanities, examines the role of the Supreme Court of Missouri, focusing on the current historic female majority and the work done by the Court to promote civic engagement.
Shelly Dreyer, 2024-25 Missouri Bar president, attended the premiere.
“The documentary covers many aspects of why I’m proud to be a Missouri lawyer,” Dreyer said. “The film did a tremendous job highlighting the women on the Supreme Court of Missouri and those who paved the way to help them get there. It also reiterated the value of Missouri’s Non-Partisan Court Plan, the foundation for merit-based judicial selection in America.”
Additional public showings of the documentary are scheduled for April 22 in Columbia, July 10 in Kansas City, and Aug. 7 in St. Louis. The film’s trailer is available here.
