Lawyers invited to assist communities affected by recent storms
In response to recent tornadoes and severe weather March 14-15, the disaster assistance planning group led by the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) will be operating Multi Agency Resource Centers (MARCs) in the impacted areas.
Lawyers are invited to participate in these events to provide guidance for those facing disaster-related legal issues. Topics that may be of immediate concern include landlord/tenant issues, home/property insurance matters, replacement of important documents, custody-related issues, and loan/bill concerns.
There are currently several MARCs scheduled across the state during the week of March 24-28 in Carter County, Franklin County, Jefferson County, Perryville, Poplar Bluff, Ripley County, Rolla, St. Louis County, Wayne County, West Plains, and Wright County.
Click here to view the volunteer signup sheet that includes the most updated list of locations. Additional information may be added in the coming days.
To volunteer for one of these MARCs, fill out the form and email it by Saturday, March 22, to: Melissa.Friel@sema.dps.mo.gov and copy Jeannie Brandstetter at jeannie@matanet.org.
