Meet #MOLawyers: Pamela Roychaudhury

Pamela Roychaudhury is managing attorney at Legal Aid of Western Missouri in Joplin. She is on the Annual Meeting Planning Committee and is the current chair of the Family Law Section. Roychaudhury will be speaking at Annual Meeting about intimate partner violence. A graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Roychaudhury was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 2001.

What is your favorite part about Annual Meeting? Annual Meeting is a great opportunity to meet colleagues around the state and network with lawyers with various backgrounds, goals, and practices. Meeting lawyers and judges across the state and sharing experiences is certainly a highlight for me. And not to mention, it is also a lot of fun!

What would you say to lawyers who have never attended Annual Meeting? There is excellent programming, all the CLE hours you need for the year, and opportunity to celebrate the profession with your colleagues across the state.

Who is your legal mentor? William “Bill” Shull knew how to celebrate my legal successes and losses. He provided me with a strong conviction in poverty law and taught me how to help the most vulnerable individuals in Missouri. Bill passed away on June 30, 2022. He will not be forgotten, and I hope to do my best to strive to achieve his level of excellence.

What is the best advice you’ve received? “Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny,” by C.S. Lewis.

If you could visit any fictional place, where you would pick and why? “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” Who doesn’t love all things sweet?
