Meet the new YLS Council member for Southeast Missouri

The Missouri Bar Young Lawyers’ Section works to facilitate the professional growth and public service of newly admitted Missouri lawyers. Recent elections to the YLS Council have resulted in new member in District 14, which serves the following counties: Butler, Carter, Dent, Dunklin, Iron, Madison, Mississippi, New Madrid, Oregon, Pemiscot, Reynolds, Ripley, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard and Wayne. What are you most looking forward to in your role as a YLS Council member?

I am excited to return to the council after previously serving as the District 10 council member. I enjoy working alongside a group that, while young, brings together a breadth of experience and diversity in geography and practice.

What do you want other young lawyers to learn about the YLS or The Missouri Bar?

I look forward to connecting young lawyers with the resources the bar offers and educating them about those resources like the Lawyer’s Assistance Program, CLE and networking opportunities.

Who is your personal hero?

Fellow Missourian Mark Twain is my hero for his chronicle of the American experience in his time. Living close to the Mississippi River, I’m constantly reminded of his heroes’ journey, and I appreciate the wit and wisdom with which he approached his surroundings.
