Missouri Bar officers discuss bar priorities with state lawmakers

Missouri Bar officers met with legislators and statewide officials recently to share information about The Missouri Bar’s resources and the ways the bar helps Missouri lawyers even better serve their clients and communities. 

Officers also discussed bar-initiated proposals regarding no-contest clauses, property exempt from attachment, attorney’s fees, and the Missouri Uniform Fiduciary Income and Principal Act.

Legislative visits are one of several ways the bar acts as a resource to the Missouri General Assembly and Missourians. Missouri Bar committees regularly propose legislation designed to improve the legal profession, the administration of justice, and the law on behalf of the public. The bar also tracks and may take positions on legislation regulating the legal profession or access to legal resources.
