Missouri Bar officers meet with state lawmakers

Download

Missouri Bar officers met with legislators and statewide officials Tuesday to share information about The Missouri Bar’s resources and how the organization works to help Missouri lawyers even better serve their clients and communities.

They also discussed bar-initiated proposals regarding electronic wills and estate planning documents, trust situses, estate planning documents executed during a state of emergency, the Missouri Uniform Fiduciary Income and Principal Act, and trust termination.

Legislative visits are just one aspect of the state bar’s efforts to be a resource to the Legislature and Missouri citizens. In addition, Missouri Bar committees regularly propose legislation designed to improve the law. The bar also tracks and — in some cases — takes positions on legislation impacting access to legal resources.
