Apply for Missouri Bar appointed vacancies to Missouri Lawyer Trust Account Foundation

The Missouri Bar Board of Governors Appointments Committee seeks nominations to fill one lawyer vacancy and one non-lawyer vacancy on the Missouri Lawyer Trust Account Foundation Board of Directors.

The Foundation collects, manages, and redistributes revenues from interest accrued on lawyer trust accounts. The Board’s primary function is to allocate and disburse Foundation assets in the form of grants to qualified applicants, i.e., non-profit entities providing legal services to the poor and improving the administration of justice.

The Board consists of 12 lawyers and one lay member. Board members serve a three-year term, with a maximum of two consecutive terms. The Board meets in person two to three times annually and otherwise conducts business by email or teleconference.

Desired qualifications include:

  • Significant non-profit board service
  • Familiarity with the mission and work of qualified applicant entities
  • Familiarity with the grant funding process
  • Professional experience in financial services or non-profit sector

Applications, including a statement of interest and complete biographical information, should be submitted by Oct. 30, 2020 to appointments@mobar.org.

The Missouri Bar is committed to diversity in its appointments to reflect its membership.
