Missouri State Public Defender system to host virtual job fair May 18

The Missouri State Public Defender system will hold a virtual job fair May 18 to hire lawyers for openings across the state.

The job fair will start at 10 a.m. and is open to any licensed lawyer or law school graduate who plans to take the July 2022 unified bar exam. The MSPD system is primarily hiring for positions in Chillicothe, Jackson, Kennett, Kirksville, Hannibal, Harrisonville, Lebanon, Moberly, Popular Bluff, Rolla, Sedalia, Union, and West Plains.

Those interested can register for the job fair for the opportunity to interview for current job openings for assistant public defenders, legal assistants, and administrative assistants. To learn more about the job fair, click here.

The MSPD system is the organization responsible for providing legal representation to all indigent citizens accused of or convicted of crimes in Missouri. It has nearly 600 employees statewide, with more than 360 of them being full-time lawyers, according to its website.
