New Missouri lawyers sworn in during 2024 Spring Enrollment Ceremony
Nearly 50 individuals were sworn into the legal profession before judges of the Supreme Court of Missouri, officers of The Missouri Bar, and members of the Missouri Bard of Law examiners during Spring Enrollment Ceremony on April 26 in Jefferson City.
“This might be my favorite job as president, welcoming new lawyers into our bar and watching their families beam with pride as they take the oath,” 2023-2024 Missouri Bar President Megan Phillips said. “I can’t wait to see how this generation changes the profession and the world.”

Students argue complex issues in front of prominent legal professionals in mock constitutional trial
Seven schools gathered at the Hilton Garden Inn Convention Center in Columbia on April 8 to compete at Show Me the Constitution, The Missouri Bar’s annual mock congressional trial competition. The students were given the unique opportunity to argue complex constitutional issues before a panel of judges comprised of leaders in the legal and educational fields. Lincoln College Preparatory Academy, from Kansas City, won first place at this year's competition.

New podcast episode: “Is It Legal To…?” recreational marijuana in Missouri
As of Dec. 8, 2022, individuals can possess up to three ounces of marijuana in Missouri. In this episode of The Missouri Bar's podcast "Is It Legal To...?" hosts Bob Priddy and Farrah Fite are joined by Amy Moore, director of the Division of Cannabis Regulations with The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, and Eric Walter, partner with Armstrong Teasdale in St. Louis, to discuss recreational marijuana in Missouri.
