Missouri Bar elects 2025-2026 officers
During the Annual Meeting of The Missouri Bar, new officers were sworn in for the 2025-2026 term. Athena Dickson of Kansas City became president, Jennifer Matthew Crompton of St. Louis became president-elect, and Scott Robbins of Poplar Bluff was elected vice president.

2025 Missouri Bar Senior Counselors offer advice
“Know the law, treat everyone including judges, clerks, court employees, clients, opposing counsel, jurors and everyone else with respect, and give your best effort in every case.” - Joseph L. Baur Jr, 2025 senior counselor.
Each year, The Missouri Bar designates a group of lawyers as “Senior Counselors.” To become a Senior Counselor, a lawyer must reach the age of 75 or have been admitted to The Missouri Bar for 50 years. The Missouri Bar asked this year's class to share some words of wisdom with their fellow Missouri lawyers — specifically those recently admitted to the bar.

Missouri lawyers invited to participate in 2025 Out of the Darkness Walks
Join fellow Missouri lawyers in 2025 Out of Darkness Walks in September and October for National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. There will be five walks across the state, and anyone can participate at no cost.
St. Louis, Sept. 28 – Creve Coeur Lake Park, led by Daniel Barnett-Foster in conjunction with the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
Joplin, Oct. 4 – Landreth Park, led by Johnny Boyer.
Greene County, Sept. 27 – Battlefield City Park, led by Erica Mynarich.
Kansas City, Oct. 4 – English Landing Park, led by Lillian Mehler.
Columbia, Oct. 19 – Bethel Park, led by Stacy Parmer.

Each year, The Missouri Bar, The Missouri Bar Foundation, and The Missouri Bar Young Lawyers’ Section present awards to deserving lawyers, judges, and community members. This year’s awardees were recognized Sept. 17 during Annual Meeting in Branson.
