St. Louis Area

James H. Guest has re-joined Legal Services of Eastern Missouri as director of the Volunteer Lawyers Program. Guest, a 1997 graduate of Saint Louis University School of Law, was director of the Volunteer Lawyers Program from 2006 to 2015. He has rejoined the agency after serving four years at Washington University School of Law as senior career strategist and director of employer relations.

Guest is a 2008 graduate of Leadership St. Louis and serves as a member of the University City Historical Preservation Committee, vice president of the Camp Nebagamon Scholarship Fund, Eagle Bank Community Steering Committee and the Salvation Army’s Family Haven Homeless Shelter Steering Committee.

Kate Tucker has joined Legal Services of Eastern Missouri as director of human resources. Tucker, a 2009 graduate of Washington University School of Law, is a licensed attorney with significant experience in human resources and employment law. She previously worked for Commerce Bank, where she co-founded and led the Women’s Employee Resource Group, RISE, and has a background in organizational development and compensation consulting with Tucker Consultants.

Tucker is past chair of the Women in the Legal Profession Section of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.

Kansas City Area

Sanders Warren Russell & Scheer LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Jenifer W. Svancara as a partner. Svancara received her J.D. from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law in 2002, and her B.S. in business administration from Emporia State University in 1999. She will focus her practice primarily in commercial litigation, insurance defense, construction litigation, personal injury, and employment law.
