MSPD to host virtual job fair Aug. 24

Missouri lawyers, bar candidates, and law students invited

Those interested in learning about a career as a public defender can learn more about the Missouri State Public Defender System and interview for open positions during a virtual job fair Aug. 24, 2023, beginning at 10 a.m.

As part of the event, which is open to any Missouri lawyer, law school graduate who sat for the July 2023 UBE, or law student, representatives from the Missouri State Public Defender System will provide information sessions through a webinar format in the morning, followed by interviews in the afternoon. Those interested in attending the webinar should register online here. Those interested in interviewing should submit an employment application before the event through the MSPD website at PublicDefender.mo.gov.

MSPD employs more than 615 people - including nearly 400 lawyers - throughout the state, each working to provide legal representation to all indigent citizens accused of or convicted of crimes in Missouri.
