New YLS Council Members for District 9

The Missouri Bar Young Lawyers’ Section works to facilitate the professional growth and public service of newly admitted Missouri lawyers. Recent elections to the YLS Council have resulted in new members in District 9, which serves the City of St. Louis. The recent resignation of Lace Cline resulted in a special vacancy on the YLS Council for this district. Tristin Estep has been reelected to this seat. Learn more about YLS at MOBarYLS.org.

Ashley J. Moore

What are you most looking forward to in your role as a YLS Council member?

I am looking forward to advocating for more diversity within The Missouri Bar and involving law students with The Missouri Bar. Also, looking forward to highlighting the importance of lawyers and law students taking care of their mental well-being.

What do you want other young lawyers to learn about the YLS or The Missouri Bar?

I want them to learn about the opportunities to become involved in The Missouri Bar. There are various committees and leadership boards such as the Board of Governors and YLS Council among other leadership opportunities and I think it's important that more people are involved because it's a great opportunity to connect with other legal professionals. I want to make sure that the representation on these boards is diverse and inclusive.

Who is your personal hero?

Bryan Stevenson is my personal legal hero. Bryan is an attorney, social justice activist and the founder of Equal Justice Initiative. He has argued and won at the U.S. Supreme Court and is a champion for individuals that have been unjustly impacted by the criminal justice system.

Is there anything you would like to add or that you would like members of the bar to know about you?

I am excited to be back on the council working with a great group of young attorneys across the state.

What are you most looking forward to in your role as a YLS Council member?

I'm looking forward to working alongside such a diverse group of people. The council hails from every part of our state and runs the gamut of practice areas.

What do you want other young lawyers to learn about the YLS or The Missouri Bar?

Our bar has a bright future! In my experience, the newest generation of lawyers has a deep and abiding commitment to justice, both inside and outside the courtroom.

Who is your personal hero?

I have many heroes, but I'll name-check Supreme Court Justice William Brennan.

Is there anything you would like to add or that you would like members of the bar to know about you?

I'm consistently proud to be part of this profession, and that's because of the people with whom I share it.

Tristin Estep

What are you most looking forward to in your role as a YLS Council member?

I'm excited to work collaboratively with the council to serve our legal community and make positive impacts in our local communities.

What do you want other young lawyers to learn about the YLS or The Missouri Bar?

All the ways they can get involved and connect with lawyers across the state, as well as the incredible resources available to new and young lawyers.

Who is your personal hero?

My mom. Through example, she taught me to pursue every passion without compromising my integrity.

Is there anything you would like to add or that you would like members of the bar to know about you?

I travel all over the state to prosecute cases, so I'm in my car driving a LOT. Podcasts help pass the time, and I'm a big fan of the true crime genre. I'd love recommendations, and I have plenty to give if you're searching for a new listen.
