Nominations being accepted for two new diversity representatives on Young Lawyers' Section Council

There are two vacancies currently on the Young Lawyers' Section (YLS) Council. The vacancies to be filled are a result of the recent YLS Council expansion of two additional diversity representatives.

One representative will be elected from the Western Appellate District and one from the Southern Appellate District in accordance with YLS Council by-laws.

The YLS Council is now accepting nomination petitions for these Appellate District Diversity Representatives. The YLS Council will fill the vacancies by majority vote at their summer meeting.

The terms for the two appellate district diversity representatives will end September 2021. The individuals who fill each vacancy may run for a full two-year term (2021-2023) in the next general election. The council requests that those interested in serving complete the nominating petition and file it with Brett Rolwes, The Missouri Bar YLS liaison, by 4 p.m., Monday, July 20. The council invites those who file to include a resume and/or brief statement explaining their interest in serving on the YLS Council. All eligible petitions received will be submitted to the YLS Council for consideration, and district representatives will be elected by the council at their summer meeting in July.

If you would like further information or have any questions, please contact Brett Rolwes at (573) 635-4128 or yls@mobar.org.
