Phishing scam alert targeting lawyers

The Missouri Bar has received reports of a phishing scam being circulated via email, which appears to be sent from bar executive director, Mischa Buford Epps. 

These fraudulent emails were not sent by her or The Missouri Bar. This phishing attempt has also been detected at bars across the nation. Please be diligent. Emails from The Missouri Bar will always include the @mobar.org URL in the email address.

Identifying the phishing email:

• The reported phishing email appears to come from Mischa Buford Epps using a fake web domain, mobar.org.sendcrp.com. This is not a legitimate email address.
• The reported phishing email contains a request for contact information tied to "a matter that surfaced earlier this week."

We are actively investigating this incident and its reach. Lawyers may report suspicious emails to mobar@mobar.org.
