Phishing scam alert

July 11 update: This phishing attempt has also been detected at state and local bars across the nation. Please continue to be diligent. Emails from The Missouri Bar will always include the @mobar.org URL in the email address. 

The Missouri Bar has received reports of a phishing scam being circulated via email, which appears to be sent from bar president, Megan Phillips. These fraudulent emails were not sent by President Phillips or The Missouri Bar. 

Identifying the phishing email:

• The reported phishing email appears to come from Megan Phillips using a fake web domain, member-mobar.org. This is not a legitimate email address.
• The reported phishing email contains payment requests and/or asks the recipient to reply to an earlier email. 

We are actively investigating this incident and its reach.
