Registration now open for Government Practice Institute

Get updated on the state of government lawyering in Missouri at the 2024 annual Government Practice Institute. 

The institute will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 6 in person at The Missouri Bar Center in Jefferson City or online. 

The cost is $150 for in-person or virtual registration, and attendees will earn 6.0 MCLE credits and 1.0 ethics credit. 

Andy Briscoe, director of government relations for The Missouri Bar, will highlight bills passed in the 2024 legislative session that impact governmental practice and preview what lies ahead in the 2025 legislative session. 

There will also be an update about the Sunshine Law, and James R. Layton, of Tueth Keeney Cooper Mohan Jackstadt P.C., will give an update about appellate practice. Krista Larson, of Stinson LLP in Minneapolis, Minnesota, will lead a wellness discussion. 

David Roland, of the Freedom Center of Missouri, will give a redaction update, and Jason Lewis, from the state’s Office of the Attorney General, will talk about conflicts of interest, nepotism, and misuse of government resources.
