St. Louis County Domestic Violence Court hosting virtual open house
In October of 2020, the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women designated the St. Louis County Domestic Violence Court a “Mentor Court.” As a result, that court is hosting a virtual open house June 2-7, 2021, for court staff, judges, and community partners.
There are three key outcomes for this event:
Introduce the St. Louis County Domestic Violence Court as a new Mentor Court
Create open communication and collaboration within Missouri courts
Connect with courts interested in creating or improving their Domestic Violence Court process
The open house will feature court observations of Orders of Protection dockets, Judicial Monitoring dockets along with Civil and Indirect Criminal Contempt dockets. Participants will have the ability to speak with court staff and judges during the event.
Please note, this event is only open to participants within the state of Missouri, and each jurisdiction may only register six participants. Those registering are asked to do so as part of a team from your respective jurisdiction, preferably including at least one judge and one community partner. If you are not a member of a court, please contact your jurisdiction. Determine your court jurisdiction here.
Register by May 14 for the virtual open house here.
