Tell us about lawyers who are serving Missourians in need

2019 Pro Bono Publico Awards

Missouri lawyers are deeply committed to providing free or discounted legal services to the state’s most vulnerable citizens. These efforts are important, and they don’t go unnoticed.

Each year, The Missouri Bar presents Pro Bono Publico Awards to lawyers and law firms that demonstrate exemplary service to low-income individuals in need of legal assistance.

The Missouri Bar is now accepting nominations for 2019 recipients. Anyone may nominate a lawyer or firm, and the deadline to do so is May 1, 2019.

To qualify, a lawyer or firm must have, within the past year, provided exemplary service without compensation to low-income persons or to a public or tax-exempt nonprofit organization that directly serves low-income individuals. Additionally, nominees should be in good standing with The Missouri Bar and must not have received the award within the past five years. View a full list of past recipients here.

Winners will be recognized during the 2019 Missouri Bar Annual Meeting, Sept. 18-20 in Branson.

For more information and to submit a name for consideration, go to mobar.org/probono-nomination.htm or mail nomination letters to Robert Stoeckl, The Missouri Bar, P.O. Box 119, Jefferson City, MO 65102.
