Teresa Lahmeyer helps Missouri lawyers in new CLE role

Teresa Lahmeyer-HIGHER RESAs the new CLE LMS coordinator, Teresa Lahmeyer strives to help Missouri lawyers find continuing legal education credits that interest them.

Having previously worked as CLE programs coordinator at The Missouri Bar, Lahmeyer stepped into her new role in February. She sets up and manages CLE content on MoBarCLE’s learning management system, where lawyers can view CLE programs and access course materials. She also assists Missouri lawyers when they have questions about CLE programs or registration and coordinates with Kansas CLE to ensure Missouri Bar programs are approved for CLE credits in Kansas.

Lahmeyer said she enjoys the variety of her work, as well as helping lawyers identify CLE credits that are applicable to them.

“It makes me feel good when I can help Missouri lawyers find the programs that are interesting to them and help them even better serve their clients,” she said.

Missouri lawyers must complete and report a total of 15 hours of CLE programs or activities each year, with three of those credit hours devoted to ethics topics. One of the ethics hours must focus on diversity, inclusion, cultural competence, or elimination of bias. Click here for more information about the minimum continuing legal education requirements.

With the MCLE compliance deadline June 30, Lahmeyer said she is seeing an uptick in phone calls regarding available CLE programs. Lawyers can search for CLE opportunities here

“We’re constantly striving to bring our members quality and timely continuing legal education programs,” said Lahmeyer, who joined the MoBarCLE staff in January 2000.

Outside of work, Lahmeyer enjoys traveling, doing paper crafts like scrapbooking, and spending time with family and friends.
