Law Practice Management resources
Remember to take advantage of the many law practice management resources available to help you even better serve your clients. Missouri lawyers can schedule free consultations or ask questions of legal experts at Affinity Insight and do online legal research at no cost through Fastcase. In addition, you have access to LawyerSearch, which is designed to link lawyers with new clients. You can also browse the white papers, checklists, comparison charts, and articles on The Missouri Bar's website, and shop for insurance to protect your business, your family, and your employees.
Member services
There are a variety of resources at your disposal to help you build or manage a practice as a Missouri lawyer. Use partners like Clio, CosmoLex, and LawPay to help your practice operate more efficiently, and use tools such as LexisNexis and MoBarNet. The Missouri Bar has several partnerships to help you save on travel and has recently launched a new initiative aimed at improving lawyer health and wellness. Utilize the free Missouri Lawyers’ Assistance Program for no-cost, professional, and confidential counseling for yourself or immediate family members. Build relationships with lawyers and clients across Missouri by writing for the Journal, joining a committee, or helping the public understand more about our state's legal system. You can also sign in to your MoBar.org account to connect, collaborate, and share knowledge and resources with Missouri lawyers through online communities based on practice areas and settings. Stay up to date on the law
There’s a lot to keep track of as a lawyer, so let The Missouri Bar help you stay up to date. Get CLE credit with programs like the Annual Law Update to stay informed on the latest case law, attend a full-day conference to connect with colleagues, or opt for a program designed to help improve your well-being. You can also share your expertise with other lawyers and earn CLE credit by presenting at MoBarCLE events.
Pick up a deskbook or guidebook to use as reference while working on cases or preparing for trial; keep track of bills of interest with the Legislative Digest; and stay informed on bills impacting the legal profession with the Government Relations Department. In the event of a misunderstanding between a lawyer and a client, the no-cost Fee Dispute Resolution Program is available to help you address complaints.
