Volunteer opportunity: Constitution Day speakers

Volunteer opportunity: Constitution Day speakers

The Missouri Bar Citizenship Education department and Young Lawyers’ Section are looking for volunteer lawyers to speak to students throughout the month of September to celebrate Constitution Day.

Each year the Citizenship Education department and YLS team up to send volunteer lawyers and judges into the classroom for Constitution Day. The goal is to connect students directly to the bench and bar through an important topic.

“YLS is proud of our commitment to sharing resources and learning opportunities on civic education with students in our communities,” said Danielle Atchison, current YLS council secretary/treasurer and chair-elect. “We hope that you will consider signing up to speak during this time.”

The Missouri Bar will provide volunteers with training and a presentation. Classroom assignments vary from elementary school to high school depending on need. Speakers will be assigned to schools in their area, if possible. You may choose the distance you are willing to travel on the sign-up form.

If you are unable to volunteer, we ask that you send this form to schools in your area so that they can sign up to have a speaker.

If you would like to be a speaker, please fill out this form online.
