Warren Welliver Award presented to Joe Page

Joseph M. Page of the Joe Page Law Firm, LLC in Jefferson City is being recognized with the 2020 Warren Welliver Award. Each year the Missouri Lawyers’ Assistance Program presents this recognition to a lawyer who exemplifies compassion and concern for impaired members of the profession over the previous year.

Page has served as a lawyer assistance volunteer. In addition, he has provided presentations to Mizzou Law students on professionalism and self-care, has offered peer support and serves as a role model for new lawyers.

Alcoholism and substance abuse issues are prevalent in society and with the stress, deadlines and issues related with legal work it is not a surprise that lawyers face these issues as well,” said Page. “I think it helps when professionals can discuss their problems with other professionals in their field that can relate to the issues they may be facing.

Page has served on the Supreme Court of Missouri Intervention Committee since 2012.

Page, along with others being recognized for their service in the area of lawyer wellness, will be noted at the 2020 Missouri Lawyers’ Assistance Conference held virtually Nov. 6. The conference is presented by the Missouri Lawyers’ Assistance Program in cooperation with the Lawyers’ Assistance Committee of The Missouri Bar. The event is sponsored by The Missouri Bar, The Bar Plan and The Missouri Bar Foundation.
