YLS Council meets July 13-15 for annual Summer Meeting
The Missouri Bar Young Lawyers’ Section Council met July 13-15 at Old Kinderhook Resort in Camdenton for their annual Summer Meeting.
YLS works to facilitate the professional growth and public service of new and recently admitted Missouri lawyers. The YLS Council is comprised of approximately 35 lawyers from districts across the state who are elected by their peers to serve two-year terms.
At each meeting, the council participates in a service project to give back to the community. At this meeting, they hosted a Missouri.FreeLegalAnswers.org clinic where they answered 28 questions from low-income Missourians.
The council conducted official business including:
- Approving candidates for vacancies;
- selecting a new representative to The Missouri Bar Foundation;
- voting on awards;
- committee reports;
- reviewing upcoming events; and
- discussing recommendations on by-laws changes.
