YLS extends deadline for nominations for Northwest Missouri area vacancy on council

Summary

Nomination deadline extended to Apr. 26.

A vacancy has occurred on the Young Lawyers' Section (YLS) Council. The vacancy is in District 1 (the counties of Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway and Worth). The YLS Council will fill the vacancy by majority vote.

The term for the council seat will end September 2022, to fill the remaining time left of a two-year term. The individual who fills the vacancy, if still eligible, may then run for a full two-year term (2022-2024) in the next general election.

The council requests that those interested in serving complete the nominating petition and file it with Brett Rolwes, The Missouri Bar YLS liaison, by 4 p.m., Monday, Apr. 26. The council invites those who file to include a resume and brief statement explaining their interest in serving on the YLS Council. All eligible petitions received will be submitted to the YLS Council for consideration, and the new representatives will be elected by the council by the end of May.

Information about the council is available at https://mobar.org/site/content/About/Young_Lawyers_Section.aspx.
