YLS to host CLE event for new lawyers in Joplin

District Representative Keegan Tinney has wanted to get new lawyers together in the Joplin area since joining the Young Lawyers’ Section Council, but nothing ever quite came together and the pandemic has not helped. Fortunately, that is about to change. The YLS Council is co-sponsoring an in-person CLE program in Joplin on Dec. 1 at Chaos Brewing Company.

This event will bring together four local judges to present information on courtroom expectations, presentation, local rules, and preparedness. Participants can earn 2.0 MCLE credits in Missouri and will be provided appetizers and beverages. Best of all, the event is free for new and young lawyers in the section, which is defined as aged 36 or less or, if older have been in practice five years or less.

Tinney is hopeful the CLE event will benefit newly practicing lawyers.

I anticipate that the CLE will provide valuable insight from our local judges and give us additional knowledge to better serve our clients,” he stated.
