The Missouri Bar’s Board of Governors met in November 2017 to discuss regular business, including appointments to various committees.

During that meeting, Judge James Eiffert of Nixa and Ron Mitchell of Joplin were each reappointed to a second four-year term on the Lawyer-to-Lawyer Dispute Resolution Committee.

The committee is charged with overseeing the Lawyer-to-Lawyer Dispute Resolution Program, which operates under Supreme Court Rule 5.10 and offers a mediation-like process and binding arbitration to resolve disputes between lawyers over money, property issues and complaints about professionalism matters.

“I am honored to begin my second term,” said Eiffert. “I would urge any attorney who has a dispute with another attorney to take advantage of the program.”

Ron MitchellIt is always better to resolve our internal disputes than expect a stranger to do a better job,” Mitchell added.

Volunteer lawyers serve as facilitators and the program’s services are offered free-of-charge to Missouri Bar members. Click here to learn more.
