Meet your Board of Governors: Scott Bethune, District 12

This August, lawyers of Missouri, voting in districts throughout the state, elected new members to The Missouri Bar Board of Governors. Board members are elected to serve two-year terms, which begin in the fall, following the bar’s Annual Meeting.

Scott Bethune, a founding member of Davis, Bethune & Jones LLC, was elected to represent lawyers in District 12, which is Kansas City within Jackson County.

Bethune has a history of leadership. He previously served as president of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and is an active member of its foundation. He also serves on the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law Foundation Board of Trustees.

“I have had a long interest in serving on The Missouri Bar Board of Governors,” Bethune said. “I endeavor to work toward the goals and priorities of the board and strive to ensure the programs available are reflective of the needs of the bar so there may be a positive impact for Missouri lawyers.
