Spring Committee Meetings attracted thousands of lawyers to no-cost CLEs

Thousands of lawyers attended the 2023 Spring Committee Meetings last month, with many of them attending continuing legal education programs that dove into expanded remote public access to court records, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion topics.

Twenty-nine committees hosted 26 meetings during the Spring Committee Meetings May 15-19, 2023, with a combined attendance of over 5,200, said Krista Lepper, Missouri Bar committee and section liaison.

Most of those committees held CLE programs that lawyers could attend at no cost. The Women in the Profession Committee had the most attendees with nearly 460 lawyers joining its CLE, “The Road Less Traveled: What Made the Difference?” Other committees covered expanded remote public access requirements, silent disabilities, artificial intelligence, and more.

All members of The Missouri Bar are encouraged to join committee and section activities. Lawyers can choose from more than 40 open enrollment committees and sections that each specialize in a substantive area of law, practice setting, or community.
