YLS to host no-cost “Milly Project” documentary CLE in Joplin on July 9
The Missouri Bar Young Lawyers’ Section Council Diversity Committee is hosting a no-cost CLE on July 9 at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin featuring the 2021 film, “The Milly Project,” followed by a panel discussion.
The film begins at 2 p.m., with the panel discussion immediately following at 3 p.m.
The event is worth 2.4 MCLE, 2.4 ethics, and 2.4 elimination of bias credits. Attendees must stay for the panel discussion to receive CLE credit.
Missouri Bar seeks public input on rural access to legal services
The Missouri Bar's Special Committee on Rural Practice is inviting residents of rural Missouri counties to take a short survey about their experiences hiring lawyers and accessing legal services. Missouri lawyers are encouraged to pass the survey information to residents in their counties.
Residents taking the survey will provide valuable information that can inform potential policy and program recommendations from the committee to help ensure adequate legal services for all Missouri residents.

Submit nominations for Pro Bono Awards by June 15
Each year, The Missouri Bar presents five awards to lawyers or law firms across the state that demonstrate exemplary pro bono service.
Presented in October during National Pro Bono Week, four of the awards are given to an individual lawyer or law firm practicing in each of the following regions: the St. Louis metropolitan area, the Kansas City metropolitan area, and two in greater Missouri. The fifth award is given to a member of the Young Lawyers’ Section.
