Shelly Dryer was sworn in at the Annual Meeting of The Missouri Bar/ Missouri Judicial Conference in September.
With a legal career spanning 27 years, she aims to prioritize lawyer well-being, encourage bar involvement among new and young lawyers, and address the unique challenges faced by legal practitioners outside of major metropolitan areas.
A member of the groundbreaking all-women slate of officers, Dreyer is the first female president from Greater Missouri (not St. Louis or Kansas City). It has also been 30 years since a Missouri Bar president hailed from Joplin.

Meet your new YLS Council representatives
Members of the Young Lawyers’ Section of The Missouri Bar, voting in districts throughout the state, elected several new members to the group’s governing council and retained incumbent council members for new terms which began in late September. Members of the Young Lawyers' Section Council serve two-year terms. National Celebration of Pro Bono
Each year, Missouri lawyers complete thousands of hours of pro bono work to help provide everyone equal access to legal services. Every hour makes a difference with clients and in Missouri communities. This October, The Missouri Bar joined in the National Celebration of Pro Bono to show lawyers how much their service to their communities is appreciated.
