The Bar Plan, proud provider of lawyers’ professional liability insurance, court bonds, risk management, CLE, and other essential insurance products for solo, small, and mid-sized firms, is pleased to announce two additions to its Sales and Marketing Department for 2026.

The Bar Plan has appointed Chasity Thebeau as director of sales and marketing. Thebeau brings nearly 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, including roles in commercial accounts, underwriting, agency development, and client relations. She also previously owned and operated an insurance agency and is currently completing her MBA.

“I am honored to join The Bar Plan,” said Thebeau. “In the year ahead, we will continue to support our insureds and agency partners through innovation, focused communication and responsive service.”

The Bar Plan has also appointed Claire Hamberg as marketing manager. Hamberg brings experience in digital communication and design, including prior marketing support for a St. Louis law firm, as well as national marketing work for independent financial professionals. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Webster University.

Kansas City

Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice LLC has added Jessica Reis as a senior attorney in the firm’s St. Louis office.

Her practice focuses on environmental and employment law, contract litigation, e-discovery and litigation readiness. She represents clients in regulatory and commercial matters.

A certified e-discovery specialist, Reis is a member of the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists. She earned her law degree and undergraduate degree from Saint Louis University and is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois.

Before joining Baker Sterchi, Reis practiced in Missouri, handling a range of civil litigation matters.

 

Litchfield Cavo LLP, a premier coverage and litigation defense law firm, is pleased to announce Blaine P. Smith has been elected to the firm's partnership in Kansas City, effective January 1, 2026. Smith assists business clients with practical solutions from pre-litigation and dispute resolution through trial. He has experience navigating legal precedent and achieving favorable results, and gained extensive litigation experience with construction cases and commercial matters, as well as strengthened legal research and writing skills while an associate attorney.
