St. Louis
McMahon Berger, dedicated to labor and employment defense law, is expanding by adding three lawyers.
Joining the firm is Perry DeLay who focuses on employee benefits and pension plan administration. DeLay earned his Juris Doctor at Notre Dame Law School and holds a Master of Laws in taxation from Villanova University. He also holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Chicago. DeLay explained, “This is inspiring to join a group of employment defense counsel who are at the pinnacle of the field.”
Additionally joining the firm is Arturo Hernandez who graduated from Vermont Law School in New England and has since focused his practice primarily on civil litigation, business immigration law, and labor and employment law. He has also taught trial practice, evidence, and business law at Columbia College. His undergraduate degree is from Texas A&M University where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in anthropology. Hernandez stated, “The firm’s reputation is what drew me to practice with them.”
Also joining the firm is David Gutwein, a graduate of Saint Louis University School of Law in 2008. His undergraduate degree is from Indiana University in criminal justice and psychology. He has been in private practice, with a primary focus on bankruptcy cases. Gutwein explained, “Joining the best in the field is exciting and challenging.”
Kansas City
Tess Johnson joins Baker Sterchi as a lawyer in the firm’s Kansas City office. She has experience representing individuals and companies in the insurance, healthcare, and retail sectors. She has handled cases in a variety of legal fields, including premises liability, professional malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, and Section 1983 civil actions.
Johnson earned her law degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and her undergraduate degree from Vassar College. She is admitted to practice in Arizona, California, Kansas, Missouri, and Nevada.
Tyler Waugh joined Sandberg Phoenix as a member of the firm’s products liability and business litigation practice groups. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas City - School of Law, cum laude, and his Bachelor of Science in American government education and pre-law minor from St. Ambrose University, graduating cum laude. He is licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas.
