Dysart Taylor Cotter & McMonigle, PC is pleased to announce Director Lee B. Brumitt has been elected a name partner by the firm’s board. In addition, the firm unveiled its new name – Dysart Taylor Cotter McMonigle & Brumitt, P.C. – with Brumitt’s addition.

“Lee’s longtime commitment to his clients and the firm, as well as the legal industry as a whole, made this decision very easy. I am delighted for him and our firm,” said Managing Director Amanda Pennington Ketchum.

More than 35 years into his practice, Brumitt has a passion for protecting his clients’ businesses and helping them grow. He focuses his practice in construction law and litigation, representing owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and design professionals on public, commercial and residential projects. Whether a case involves disputes over money owed, defective work, injuries or contract terms, Brumitt brings experience, knowledge and hard work to the table. He spares nothing to represent his clients’ interests.

Brumitt not only enjoys advising and working with clients, but he also frequently presents to the construction community as a whole through trade organizations such as the Builders’ Association, the American Subcontractors Association, and the American Society of Professional Estimators. In addition, Brumitt is a fellow in the Construction Lawyers Society of America and contributes timely articles to USLAW Magazine and other publications on issues in the construction industry.

Springfield

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Jessica Hill has joined the litigation group as an of counsel attorney in the firm’s Springfield office.

Hill focuses her practice on general business, employment, liability, and insurance litigation. She has a strong track record of successfully defending clients in litigation and through dispute resolution and strives to provide comprehensive support to clients who are often new to the litigation process.

“We’re thrilled to have Jessica join our litigation practice group and strengthen our ability to provide high levels of client service in handling insurance disputes,” said Jason Smith, office managing partner for Spencer Fane in Springfield. “Jessica’s knowledge of the Springfield market reinforces our commitment to grow in the markets and industries where our clients do business, so we can continue to effectively and efficiently handle their matters.”

Hill started her law career as a prosecutor, gaining valuable trial experience working for four years in the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office before switching her interests to the civil side of law. Hill spent several years practicing insurance defense, school law, and employment law with a reputable Springfield firm before joining Spencer Fane.

Hill completed her undergraduate studies at Evangel University and earned her J.D. from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
