Michael Conger has joined the Sandberg Phoenix Kansas City office as counsel. He is a member of the firm’s business practice groups and focuses his practice in business and tax law, specifically in employee benefits, ERISA, and executive compensation. Conger has extensive experience with both tax-qualified retirement plans and non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements, ESOPs, health plans, fiduciary law, equity compensation, stock options and restricted stock, and incentive and deferred compensation plans. He also focuses on the rescue of plans with document or operational defects.
Conger is licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri and before the U.S. Tax Court. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Dysart Taylor Cotter McMonigle & Brumitt PC announces Bobbie Liu has joined the firm as a corporate and real estate associate.
A strong negotiator and litigator with demonstrated success working with both individuals and corporate entities, Liu focuses her practice on real estate litigation, as well as business and contract disputes.
Liu’s experience with real estate includes the negotiation and drafting of various legal documents and agreements, including those pertaining to real estate purchase/sale agreements, financing, leasing, title review and insurance, zoning and land use, easements, and restrictive covenants.
“Bobbie is a business-savvy lawyer with great experience in structuring complex real estate-related transactions,” said Michael Judy, the firm’s managing director. “She is a talented and insightful lawyer whose experience will provide our team with a unique perspective on our clients’ challenges. Our firm continues to grow wherever we see opportunities to better serve existing clients and make new client relationships."
Prior to joining the firm, Liu served as an associate attorney at a Kansas City-based firm as well as a firm based in Berkeley, California. In those roles, she became highly skilled in legal writing and research, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, trials, and de novo appeals. In addition, Liu owned and operated her own firm, Liu Law Firm, in Atlanta, where she focused on creditors' rights and bankruptcy.
Liu is licensed to practice in Missouri and Georgia, as well as several district courts throughout Kansas, Missouri, and Georgia. She earned her Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Law School and her undergraduate degree in communication studies from the University of Kansas.
