Kansas City
McDowell Rice Smith & Buchanan, PC is pleased to announce the recent addition of Michaela N. Marine and Shoshana H. Margolies as associates of the firm.
Marine practices in the area of family law. She graduated from Washburn University School of Law with a J.D. in May 2015 and the University of Tulsa with a B.A. in psychology and Spanish in May 2012.
Margolies practices in the areas of bankruptcy, workouts and financial restructuring; corporate and business transactions; creditor’s rights and remedies; litigation and dispute resolution; and real estate Law. She graduated from DePaul University College of Law with a J.D. in May 2020 and the University of Michigan with a B.A. in history and international studies in April 2017 and received university honors.
Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Amanda (Amy) Lewandowski has joined the litigation and dispute resolution practice group as an associate in the firm’s Kansas City office.
Lewandowski brings substantial experience in commercial litigation, construction law, and fraud investigation, having most recently worked as an attorney advisor with the U.S. Small Business Administration, where she served on a specialized anti-fraud identity theft team. Her prior work in private practice involved all aspects of litigation and case management.

Lewandowski completed her undergraduate studies in business at the University of Missouri before earning her J.D. at the University of Iowa College of Law, where she participated in the school’s Clinical Law Programs. She became a Certified Law Student Practitioner and worked on numerous pieces of litigation during her ten months in the program.
McDowell Rice Smith & Buchanan, PC, announces the re-election of Kristie Remster Orme as president of the firm and the re-election of R. Pete Smith as chairman of the board of directors. Also re-elected to serve on the board of directors were Thomas R. Buchanan, Greg T. Spies, and Susan Saper Galamba.
It was also announced that Thomas R. Buchanan will continue to serve as the firm’s general counsel with Kristie Remster Orme serving as associate general counsel. Robert D. Maher was appointed as the firm’s secretary, and Ronald S. Bronstein will continue to serve as the firm’s vice president/treasurer/assistant secretary.
Mid-Missouri
Spencer Bartlett of Jefferson City was appointed to the Administrative Hearing Commission by Gov. Mike Parson.
Bartlett joined the Missouri Department of Revenue as deputy general counsel in 2017 and was promoted to general counsel in 2019. Prior to joining the Department of Revenue, he served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Boone County.
Bartlett attended the University of Missouri - Columbia where he earned a B.S. in business administration and a B.A. in international studies. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas - Austin School of Law.
