Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, PC is pleased to announce that Paul F. Woody has joined the firm as counsel in the franchising and distribution and business services groups, based in its St. Louis office.

“We are very pleased to welcome Paul to our acclaimed team of franchising and distribution attorneys,” said Greensfelder President and CEO Kevin T. McLaughlin. “Paul has a proven track record in the industry that will be highly beneficial to our franchising clients in matters involving corporate structuring, state and federal legal compliance, litigation and dispute avoidance, and more.”

A Certified Franchise Executive through the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives, Woody works with franchisors in a variety of industries to help ensure their compliance with federal and state laws and proactively avoid disputes. He focuses on all aspects of the franchisor-franchisee relationship, as well as franchise litigation and litigation avoidance and prevention.

Previously, Woody served as general counsel for a large sports and recreation franchisor with more than 300 franchises throughout the United States, Canada and Japan. In that role, he provided legal guidance and contributed to strategic planning and key decisions, oversaw compliance and litigation strategies, and managed franchisee relationships, including franchise transfers, rectifying compliance issues, and franchise terminations. His experience also includes corporate and employment litigation. Prior to practicing law, he worked in state and local government and political communications.

Woody also teaches franchise law at Saint Louis University School of Law, from which he received his J.D. He received his B.A. from St. Louis University.


Morgan & Morgan announced that it has opened a new office in St. Louis and has hired Shamon Moss, where she will focus on a diversity of personal injury cases, motor vehicle crashes and premises liability.

“We are thrilled to welcome Shamon Moss to our firm,” said Morgan & Morgan founder, John Morgan. “Her impressive track record of fighting for justice and getting results for her clients will be invaluable as we expand our work into St. Louis.”

Prior to her time at Morgan & Morgan, Moss spent three years in complex asbestos litigation cases. Prior to that, she was with the Law Offices of Roderick C. White, where she practiced personal injury car accident pre-suit negotiations and litigation cases.

“I am proud to join Morgan & Morgan and help build their presence in my hometown of St. Louis,” said Shamon Moss. “I have long shared its values for fighting and advocating for the voiceless and I’m excited to be part of the team.”

Moss graduated magna cum laude from Lincoln University of Missouri with a B.S. degree in criminal justice and a minor in legal studies. She earned her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law. While attending law school, Moss worked as an intern at the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri advocating for low-income families to receive government benefits. Additionally, she interned at the St. Charles Prosecuting Attorney’s Office where she was an advocate for sex crime victims by assisting prosecutors in building their cases.
