St. Louis

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Jordan Reimschisel as an associate in the corporate and business transactions group in St. Louis. He previously worked as a law clerk with an Illinois firm, gaining valuable experience in legal research and discovery review for products liability, mass torts, and civil procedure matters. He also served as an outreach associate and research assistant for technology policy at George Mason University’s Mercatus Center, a nonprofit scholarly research center.

Reimschisel completed his undergraduate studies at Hillsdale College in Michigan before earning his J.D. from the Saint Louis University School of Law. Before graduating law school, Reimschisel interned for Judge Raymond Gruender in the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
 

Kansas City

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce the addition of two associates, Heather Hughes and Emily Reed to the Kansas City office. Hughes will join the corporate and business transactions group, while Reed will be part of the litigation and dispute resolution practice group.

Hughes most recently served as a legal intern with the U.S. District Court, Western District of Missouri, for Judges Bough, Counts, and Fenimore. She gained valuable experience researching and drafting memos on bankruptcy, criminal, and constitutional law. She also previously spent time as a legal intern with Sporting Kansas City and was a summer associate at Spencer Fane in 2019, gaining experience in financial services, corporate, and general commercial litigation matters. Hughes completed her undergraduate studies at Truman State University and earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law.

Reed originally came to Spencer Fane as a summer associate in 2019, researching and analyzing a wide range of matters, including noncompete agreements, fraudulent transfers, mergers and acquisitions, and open records law. She also served as a summer intern for the Kansas Court of Appeals in 2020 before spending the past year as a judicial intern for the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. Her duties included researching legal issues, drafting legal documents, and attending conferences and arraignments. Reed completed her undergraduate studies at Emporia State University and earned her J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law.
 

Mid-Missouri Area

Joseph Plaggenberg of Jefferson City will become acting director for the Missouri Department of Revenue, effective immediately. He currently serves as general counsel for the department.
